RIVALRY

As a sort of annual tradition, the two Armadas are holding a "friendly" competition between each other. It is a time where they set aside most of their differences and perform some kind of exercise or compete in a game against each other. This tradition hearkens back to when the Armadas were first formed, recognizing that despite their differences and the conflicts that arise between them, they share the same seas and there will be times they will need to rely on each other to survive. Of course, while there are "rules" and the Paladins are more upstanding, both sides have a tendency to see them more as guidelines, especially the Corsairs.

This year, a mysterious island has emerged from a dense fog that had covered an area for quite a long time. In the past, any who sailed into it were never seen again, or if they were, it was only in pieces of wreckage that have managed to drift to a far shore sometimes years later. One would think it an odd place to try and hold a competition, but given the strange nature of the island where the fog still remains, it's agreed that this is one of the times where it would be better if they worked together to investigate. Not to mention, it would help motivate those who volunteer to participate (or questionably drafted) to work harder to figure out what is within these ruins.

For those participating in the competition, the rules are simple:
» Paladins wear blue pieces on their clothes, Corsairs wear red. These could be ribbons, bandanas, whole articles of clothing—whatever will help clearly show which side they are on.
» Preliminary scouting and investigations have determined specific areas that need to be explored and focused on, thus each side has an objective they must fulfill for points. Pictures and sometimes tokens will be used as evidence of completion. There will be "observers" from the MANTA group to keep watch, but anything can happen.
» For the most part, each side is working separately from each other, however there are some shared goals where the two may work together.
» Ideally the two groups don't try to kill each other, but there's really no way to enforce anything, so the best they can do is discourage. And if something should happen while out there, well—try to make it look like an accident is what the Corsairs say, and try to make it justified is the Paladin's.

Each side is also given objectives to help give some additional focus while going through the island.

As if to initiate the competition, the Armadas will host a mock naval battle as a kind of exercise between the two. To keep things fair, no real ammunition is to be used, and anyone caught cheating will have a hole blasted directly into their ship and seized. Crews are especially invited to try and show off their skills. Crews must figure out or create substitute ammunition to fire at their "enemies." Could be food, silverware, liquids (not the rum!!), laffy taffy, silly string, confetti—whatever they can think of. It is also possible to board each other's ships and "fight" one another, but again no real weapons or lethal magic can be used. Instead, they must use "prop" weapons, and the Armadas will have toy weapons available for those who need them. Remember, this is all in good fun!

SHARED OBJECTIVES. These objectives can be done with opposing Armada members, or they can be done between the same members. Whether one can trust their partner not to backstab them, well, that's just part of the fun.

🏺 Collect the artifacts. A simple scavenger hunt where each side will try to find and catalog as many different items and artifacts as they can. Most will be easy to find, but others may try to look in hard to reach places to see if they can find any hidden treasures.(There is no specific list, feel free to be creative and submit findings during AC!)
🐗 Clearing out creatures. While the area is mostly safe, there are still wild animals and creatures from the forest that roam through the overgrown brush. Wild boars, giant insects like trap door spiders, mischievous pixies or sprites to name a few. Some are friendlier than others and may be easier to shoo away or avoid, while others may need some help fighting back. Might as well work together!
🏃 Stop looters. Whether they are defectors from either side (most likely Corsair) or unaffiliated individuals who are pretending to be part of the group, there are those who try to steal the artifacts. Stopping and bringing them in (dead or alive) will be worth a lot of points, so try and team up to score big! (Or a Corsair might try to steal again, always hard to say with them.)
🕳️ Pitfalls. While there are no real "traps" around, there are places where the ground may give way or a structure may suddenly collapse and trap someone inside. As a show of good faith, work together and help each other.

PALADIN OBJECTIVES. These objectives are for Paladins only, however Corsairs could try to disrupt them from succeeding.

🥷 Infiltrate. Disguise as a Corsair and beat them at their own game. Give them false leads, learn of what plans they have to alert other Paladins, and basically make them feel like a fool for being duped.
🐎 Repair security golems. Remains of what look to be some kind of mechanical winged horses can be found throughout the area. Repairing these will allow them to move and act as security to help keep the site secure.
🗿 Wishing orbs. It is rumored there are white orbs that are capable of granting small wishes to those who hold it. This is dubious at best, but the higher ups are concerned and want as many collected as possible for the Corsairs catch wind. (Note: Those who find and hold these orbs will discover they don't grant all wishes but only small earnest, hopeful ones.)

CORSAIR OBJECTIVES. These objectives are for Corsairs only, however Paladins could try to disrupt them from succeeding.

📑 Steal research notes. It may be underhanded, but that's the Corsair life! Steal or copy research notes from the Paladins to try and get a leg up on the other side.
🪤 Trap a Paladin. For extra brag points, try and trick and trap a Paladin somewhere embarrassing.
💎 Dark crystals. Artifacts are great, but treasure is better. Surely they won't mind if a few gems and jewels are taken? There are also black crystals that are rumored to help cast dark elemental spells including curses and hexes. Now wouldn't that be useful? (Note: Small fragments can be found that do seem capable of creating dark elemental spells, but they are minor with short term effects. )

MYSTERIOUS RUINS

The ruins site is located deep within the dense forest that fills the large island, and the number and spread of the stone structures suggest it was once a large, populated city. Most buildings look like they could be homes or businesses, but there are larger ones that could be temples or some other kind of function. These in particular appear to be floating on large portions of land. Most of the areas designated for the competition will be around this area, but there are a few places located in the far cliffs. Those who go out there will be doing so at their own risk. IMPORTANT! Players are welcome to come up with whatever kinds of items found on the island. The only restriction is any "tech" will be similar to the magitech found in Escordvi today, and there seem to be a lot of horse themes scattered around.

The wild environment of the site, particularly all the overgrowth on the buildings, provide natural challenges that those overseeing the competition have marked. Although designed for Armada members to compete against each other, there's nothing stopping those who may want to challenge those within the same group for some fun! While anyone can do these activities on their own, if there is someone else, then it automatically becomes a challenge. Just be careful of the fog that drifts in and out, as well as strange shadows that lurk around. Although not thick, it's easy to get turned around because of it, and trying to follow the shadows lead to nowhere. Perhaps it's just an animal or a trick of the light?

🌿 Vine swing. Some structures can only be reached by swinging via vines over large gaps between ridges, or even between the tall buildings themselves. Just be careful as some may be weaker than they appear and break.
🧗‍♂️ Climbing. If stairs aren't available, ropes, scaffolding, and natural ledges and hand holds may be the only other options. See who can get to the top or the highest point faster.
🍄 Bouncing Mushrooms. There are large mushrooms that are not only large enough for one to stand on, but have such strong elasticity that will allow anyone to jump several feet upwards. They are found everywhere, including by the tall structures of the ruins and cliff sides. Use these to try to get to the top to enter places that can't be climbed easily.
🌉 Crossing Bridges. The "floating temples" will be difficult to access, particularly when the bridges that once reached them are broken. There are a few different ways to earn points here: 1) find a way to remake the bridge; 2) fashion a hang glider and either catch a draft or use wind magic to get across; 3) hop across strange clouds that are just solid enough to jump on before they disappear (watch out for the storm clouds that could break right away); 4) use some other method!

Throughout the larger floating temples there are strange indentations around the doors and it becomes clear that something is required to be placed into them. There are special tapir shaped stones that come in white and black scattered throughout, sometimes even right next to the door. One of each must be placed into these indentations for the door to open. However, the moment the stone is placed, a unique vision will appear that is visible to all. The white stone will create a vision based on one's hopes, dreams, and aspirations. The black stone will create a vision based one's weaknesses, fears, and sadness. In addition, once a person has placed one type of stone, they will not be able to place the same type until they've placed the other. Fortunately, these visions are brief and only last a few seconds, but may still make for awkward conversation…

INTO THE FOG

For those who may venture outside of the ruins into the forests will find it most unusual. It drifts in and out almost like the waves of the sea, and oftentimes one might think they hear the ocean just a few feet away, but they are too far inland for it to be possible. Sometimes they may even hear crying or singing somewhere deep within the fog, yet the source remains elusive, always moving, never still. While not officially part of the competition, interesting discoveries may be counted.

Beware the fog because there are side effects if one stays in the fog around here for too long.

👥 Shadow forms. The fog will start to change and take on the form of something from the person's memory. It could be a person, an animal, or even a place, and the affected individual will see these shadow forms as real. They're just hallucinations, but to them the form they see is the same as the real thing and they are all good things. However, others who are not affected will just see the strange fog shapes. Even creepier, if the fog is taking on the form of a person, a voice can be heard but it's distorted and unreal. Either pull the person away or try to destroy the fog to break them out of the trance. If not, the person will remain lost in that place, drawn in by the pleasant feelings the hallucinations bring.

💫 Jumbled memories. Either in conjunction with the hallucinations or completely separate, staying too long in the fog can also make one forgetful. It will start subtle, such as briefly forgetting why they are here or who they are with, until things become more jumbled to the point of forgetting who they are. Should anyone be found in this state, they must be taken out quickly and the effect will eventually wear off.

💣 Fog spheres. Turns out, this fog may not be so natural after all. Scattered around the forest and particularly up on the cliffs where the fog is thickest, there are strange spherical devices that are creating the fog. Find and destroy these to lessen the fog in the area. Unfortunately, this fog covers most of the island, and even after destroying the sphere and trying to disperse the fog will only have it creep right back in. Perhaps there's another source out there…

To try and combat the fog, a special lantern can be lit that will have a unique incense that helps clear the mind as well as help show a way through the fog. Chewing on bitter herbs and mint will also help stave off the effects, if for a little while. Should anyone feel stressed out or disoriented by the fog, finding a capybara will also do wonders to heal the soul. The docile creatures may happen to wander into the fog or one may stumble upon them. Capybaras particularly enjoy oranges, so feeding one will have the creature follow the person for a time.

Should one be able to avoid or navigate through the fog, there will be a number of strange things found around and beyond the forests, particularly closer to the cliffs where there are numerous caves and strange buildings that are considered part of the ruins.

🌷 Sweet dreams. There is a beautiful field of flowers that has such a lovely aroma…that may make one feel sleepy. Should someone drift asleep, they will find themselves having pleasant dreams, which doesn't sound like a bad thing—until they don't wake up and risk falling asleep for eternity. One way to find a sleeping person is by seeing a baby tapir floating above them. The tapir can be seen sniffing and snuffling around their head and can be shooed away if they don't fly off first. Rescue the person before getting caught by the flowers' sweet fragrance. Methods to counteract the scent are possible to make! One could also burn the flowers, but then the baby tapirs will fly in and cry about it. Loudly.

☁️ Cloud Riders. There is a strange area by the tall cliffs that have small clouds drifting around them. Turns out they are actually quite "solid" enough for someone to step onto and even sit on. They are also the best way up the cliffs, where there are numerous caves and signs of ruin structures. There are two types of clouds: fluffy white ones that will provide a slow but relaxing ride, and dark thunderclouds that will go in random directions and zip and zag here and there while threatening to drop rain on anything below it. Perhaps some people may figure out a way to control them. Race each other to earn more points!

🚩 Lost flags. The various structures on the cliffs are actually small towers that seemed to be used as watch posts. While there are some artifacts and weapons found, there are also a number of tattered flags and pennants scattered around. They have turned black and touching them brings a wave of grief and hopelessness. But there are those that still have some of the colorful patterns with what looked to be a horned horse. Perhaps cleaning and repairing them may reveal more about who lived here.

🪶 Feather fall. Winged horses can be found at the top of the cliffs. They will be wary and stay away from the adventurers, however their feathers are said to help keep nightmares away and induce pleasant dreams. Since the horses will be hostile and refuse to be friendly to anyone, find a way to collect the feathers. However, should someone try to collect a feather by either harming or killing the horse, the feather will turn black and plague them with nightmares instead.

Tapir Stones

So it seems.

[ He casts a look between the white and black stones. This is too easy. He suspects some sort of trick - or at least a side effect - for when they activate the door. ]

It surely cannot be as simple as slotting them in...

[After the trials and tribulations endured to procure the stones in question Denji didn't think there would be much resistance met. However; He was not as skeptical and far more dumb witted than that of his older and wiser counterpart, Emet-Selch having far more experience. Nevertheless what he lacked in brains made up for in courage, the boy's stern glare looking downwards to the stones in hand as he holds the white one up with his left before casting a look back over his shoulder.]

What you mean? It looks pretty easy to me!

[Waltzing over to Emet's side he holds each of the stones in one of his hands, palms face up as he offers up a simple solution.]

How about we each take one and see what happens? You can pick which one you want! Hell I'll even go first I'm not scared of some stupid door!

[ He pulls a slight face. For a moment, his hand hovers uncertainly above the black stone. Then he impulsively reaches for the white stone.

Maybe if he chooses the 'good' colour for once, it won't backfire on him. ]

I only mean that a task this easy must have a catch of some sort. But nevermind - let's get this over with.

[It really didn't matter which one Denji was stuck with they had to get this over with one way or another. With each of them taking one of the colored stones in hand the teenager moves to his side of the doorway, ready and waiting to slot it into the location provided as he looks back over his shoulder towards Emet with a firm nod of his head in affirmation.]

Should we do it together or...I just go first?

[Whatever got the job done he just wanted to see what was lying in wait for them further into the temple, hopefully some sort of ancient relic that held unimaginable powers. Denji still determined to find some sort of magical entity that would bring his older brother figure back from the grave here in Escordvi, one in the same to the man his counterpart saw during the course of the spiritual terrors plaguing victims en mass which eventually came to life manifesting an undead version of the person in question.]

[ Emet-Selch nods. He sees no reason to disagree. ]

Together.

[ You never know if it's a door that requires simultaneous key placement. It makes sense, right? Otherwise any robber could saunter by and take what's inside.

Emet-Selch stands beside one of the receptacles and holds up the little statue. ]

[This is why Emet was the brains and he was the brawn never one to put two and two together with the stones as they shoved them into their slots in accordance. At first they were met with swift silence, door unmoving before darkness envelops both of them.

As his counterpart stands motionless a strange vision stirs in the forefront of their mind, watching on as unfamiliar faces of both Aki and Power stand smiling before him. A flash of red seems to flash before your eyes as a gruesome sight unfolds, his older brother's body twisted into the Gun Fiend manifestation aiming his sights down unto you. A terrorizing cackle emits forth as you seem to rush forwards with unparalleled speed, serrated blades of chainsaw arms slashing him down without hesitation quickly falling to your feet in a pool of blood.

Soon after Power follows suite as you strike her down next in a bloody fury, leaving the pairs tattered forms lying on the ground lifelessly. Their heads twist and turn until glaring upwards to their assailant, hands reaching out to grasp at your ankles with wicked grins splayed over their features. "It's your fault...You killed us...You killed us!" Looking downwards to the blood soaked blades, tears begin to well up in the corner of his your eyes before a cry out in agony echoes through the darkness as the grueling scene comes to a close.]
emet_sulk: (57 it can't be...)

[personal profile] emet_sulk 2024-10-10 10:57 am (UTC)(link)
[ Emet-Selch jerks instinctively, throwing up his arms to create a defensive barrier. But the vision is just that: a vision, and the events depicted occur regardless of his intervention.

He's seen death before. He's been at the frontline of battle. But while war is its own set of horrors, being put in the nauseating position of slaughtering others so callously is another. He can't do anything but watch and listen as the vision concludes--

As if in defiance of that initial scene, another thrusts itself to the fore. It's vastly different: a sprawling city at first glance, with elegant, curving spires bracketing stone skyscrapers. Trees line the elevated walkways and, in the distance, one glimpses out of the corner of their eye a large, elongated piece of floating blue crystal.

But the main focus settles on two figures who approach the viewer. Both in dark grey robes with cowls down, one with lavender hair in a fishtail braid and a smile while the other-- The other's face is oddly obscured. Like one has forgotten their face. There's joyous greetings from the pair and a muted response from the viewer. One slings their arms around the others' shoulders and together the group head somewhere. A place where they can drink and make merry until the hour grows late.

This vision doesn't last as long as the first but it exudes an unmistakeable aura of peace and contentment as it fades. ]

[The vision which follows his indisputable own causes Denji to gape in bewilderment, strange city state with architecture the likes of which he's never seen before. It was something out of a futuristic movie which only got weirder when the mysterious hooded figures approach. He was expecting something oddly sinister to happen given they were all dressed like they were apart of some cult but the trio happily linked together as they made their way to a foreign place to drink happily amongst themselves.

Once they both come to a conclusion the teenager looks over at his counterpart with a pensive gaze, blinking wide in confusion rubbing his eyes with both hands making sure he was brought back to reality with a shake of his head.]

Uh...Did you see all that shit or was it just me?

[Depending on if Emet saw the former with his own mortifying nightmare which seemed almost like reality, Denji might have a lot of explaining to do.]
emet_sulk: (31 ...you will do with despair)

[personal profile] emet_sulk 2024-10-17 03:36 pm (UTC)(link)
[ Emet-Selch pinches the bridge of his nose and closes his eyes. Viewing those had been akin to having an Echo thrust upon him - something which hasn't happened in-- well, a very, very, very long time. ]

A memory from each of our lives, I suppose. [ His voice is tense. ] I presume the first was yours.
nutsornothing: (078)

[personal profile] nutsornothing 2024-10-19 08:10 pm (UTC)(link)
[Denji is struck silent which is quite the feet considering the usual talkative demeanor, eyes opened wide as he stares down at the front with both hands curled tightly into fists arm shaking in utter shock. It takes him a minute or two before he finally comes back to reality at Emet's presumptions, nodding a bit solemnly with his sharp teeth grit. He never thought he'd have to revisit the memories of Aki's death first hand before his eyes again but the latter half is what caught him even more off guard.

Power was alive and well back home as far as he knew but this alarming vision has him wondering if this was some sort of hellish insight into the future or simply a waking nightmare? In any case he stifles back a groan rubbing the back of his neck as he looks unsettled towards his counterpart now finally mustering up the courage to speak again.]

Kinda...But not all of it. More like a fucking nightmare that I hope doesn't happen.
emet_sulk: (15 in thought)

[personal profile] emet_sulk 2024-10-24 04:19 am (UTC)(link)
[ Emet-Selch, for his part, can't actually say if the second vision is memory or wishful thinking. It's been far, far too long since those idyllic times and it crushes his chest with painful nostalgia.

He frowns at the black and white statues before glancing over. ]

Then...that killing spree never happened? Is that what you're saying?
nutsornothing: (096)

[personal profile] nutsornothing 2024-10-27 11:40 pm (UTC)(link)
[Unlike his counterpart the memory of Aki's death is still fresh in his mind being one of the last things to happen in Denji's reality but the latter part of the waking nightmare had most certainly not come to pass at least to his knowledge thus far causing the boy to stare at the ground with a look of pure terror stricken over his features. Both hands curl tightly into fists practically shaking at the prospect of what he saw becoming reality. Could this possibly be some sort of glimpse into the future or was it just some sort of twisted way to mess with their perception?

Whatever the case may be Denji was most assuredly gritting his teeth as he fights to control the mixture of emotions flowing through him at the moment. Looking back towards Emet with a pained expression he solemnly shakes his head with an exasperated sigh, breathing erratically as he tries to keep calm in the face of adversity.]

Some of that is true...I- I killed the guy but I had no choice we was gonna kill a bunch of innocent people cause he was possessed by the fucking Gun Devil!! Which is fucked up because that was the whole reason Aki became a Devil Hunter was to kill it and then it chose him of all people.

[A brief pause as he chokes back a sob, shaking his head as he falls down to his hands and knees, fingertips scratching against the stone surface below as he continues on painfully.]

But Power...I didn't...I would never kill her she's my best friend!!
emet_sulk: (48 I will bring our brethren back)

[personal profile] emet_sulk 2024-10-31 04:23 pm (UTC)(link)
[ He takes a startled step back. This is more distress than he had been expecting (well, it had been a harrowing vision, he allows after a moment). The 'Gun Devil'? A 'devil hunter'? Is this boy's world just somehow infested with demonic creatures?

And how in the seven hells have their people managed to fuse themselves with inanimate objects? ]

Alright, alright. I'm not going to pass judgement on you, boy. [ That would make him a severe hypocrite. ] If that scene never happened then the obvious conclusion is that these stone statuettes were trying to intimidate you.
nutsornothing: (039)

[personal profile] nutsornothing 2024-11-04 03:18 am (UTC)(link)
[Generally Denji did not like to show such weakness in front of people but this was not the first time Emet has seen the boy so vulnerable. They've talked about the loss of his friend Aki in memories past but to see it firsthand was something else entirely.

Slowly peeling himself up off the stoned floor of the temple the teenager looks towards his companion with a somber expression splayed over his face, nodding softly in recognition to the others sentimental response. At least he wasn't getting some sort of weird lecture about this as he stares to the stone statues with a look of frustration, brows furrowed intensely getting back onto his feet again.]

Well they are assholes for trying to trick me like that but guess what it will take a lot more than that to give me the spooks and run away!

[Almost on cue with the proclamation the large doorway begins to creek open to reveal a set of stairs presumably leading further into the depths of the temple's interior. The usual toothy grin falling back into place over his lips as he flips the statues the double middle fingers sticking his tongue out mockingly.]

Hah- That's right open wide sucker!

[Turning to Emet with a curt nod of his head and waving of his hand moving into the threshold of the doorway itself.]

C'mon dude lets see if there's some badass treasure down here waiting for us!
emet_sulk: (43 now what colour was her soul again?)

[personal profile] emet_sulk 2024-11-08 01:13 am (UTC)(link)
[ And just like that Denji seems to be mostly back to his usual self. Emet-Selch shakes his head and follows after the boy, wondering if he should offer a bit more sympathy. ]

Are you sure you'll be alright? We can take a few more seconds to rest.

[ He snaps his fingers and a small ball of light appears to illuminate their way, but he waits a moment. ]

[The kid didn't like to dwell on the past too much and tried to shove it under the rug a lot of the time, letting it stew in the catacombs of his mind as to hold the guilt at bay. However; Sometimes the past comes back to haunt you and there is nothing you can do about it. Nodding solemnly at Emet's question he looks downwards to the eerie staircase which led into impending darkness.]

Don't worry about it! I'm good man now lets go find us some loot, eh!?

[Lies masked behind a false smile as he stands beside his counterpart, looking towards the staircase as the light produced by Emet illuminates their way into the heart of the temple. Without further hesitation the pair begin their descent into the belly of the beast until they stand upon the threshold of a large archway leading into a massive room lined with various murals on each wall depicting ancient civilizations long past their prime.]

Wooha- This is wild...
emet_sulk: (76 Poison hmm?)

[personal profile] emet_sulk 2024-11-16 04:48 pm (UTC)(link)
[ Emet-Selch still harbours doubts, but as one well-versed in masking pain and ennui, he decides to let the matter go for now.

What they find at the bottom of the stairs gives him pause. For the briefest of moments, he's back in the bowels of the Qitana Ravel with its faded murals on the cave walls. His feet unconsciously take him closer and he gazes up and down one section of the wall. ]

What's all this...?

[ Even though the doors had been opened with tapir-shaped stones, there are recurring motifs of what is distinctly a horse running around the frames. ]

[personal profile] nutsornothing 2024-11-19 12:10 am (UTC)(link)
[Denji really didn't know what to make of all this nonsense, not being one to read up on the lore and stories this place had to offer considering his lack of reading skills in the first place. Nonetheless he was genuinely curious about the drawings littered across the various walls, a horse of flames seeming to run through what appears to be a volcanic area which seemed oddly familiar. Tilting his head curiously the teenager rubs a hand at the back of his neck, standing beside Emet before looking over to him for advice.]

The Hell do I know...Looks like some sort of fire horse?
emet_sulk: (15 in thought)

[personal profile] emet_sulk 2024-11-22 02:29 am (UTC)(link)
It reminds me of the horse which was trapped beneath the volcano a little while ago.

[ He slowly paces down the mural, taking in the details. ]

Is this the tale of how it was trapped, perhaps? Or its origins...?
nutsornothing: (025)

[personal profile] nutsornothing 2024-11-27 04:58 pm (UTC)(link)
A horse trapped beneath the volcano, huh? Never heard of that.

[Shrugging a bit to himself as they continued to scan over the walled motifs in full, slowly rounding the room until they come across the next panel which depicts a rather odd spectacle. A summoning circle of sorts forged by blood and bone as a number of hooded individuals knelt to the ground. This wasn't ominous at all.]

Looks like some sort of messed up ritual.
emet_sulk: (40 what this tower is capable of...)

[personal profile] emet_sulk 2024-12-01 02:30 am (UTC)(link)
There was a horse trapped in the volcano of...Avaleci, was it? The leviathan with fire and ice on its back. This is too similar to ignore.

[ He takes out a small crystal and holds it aloft. It glows, absorbing an echo of his memories. ]

Of all places to find that creature's tale... I shall have to explore the rest of it thoroughly.

Guess I wasn't around yet when that shit went down.

[Although it sounds pretty awesome and he wished to see this leviathan in question at some point, perhaps warranting another adventure in the midst of their newfound discoveries here in this temple. A subtle nod of his head is given in return as they continue to look over the entirety of the large room for anymore clues. That's when something catches the corner of his eye at the far end of the space, two large pillars standing on either side of a stone pedestal with something glistening upon its stand.]

Yo, Emet! Check this out I found something over here it might be treasure!

[Drawing closer Denji's gaze peers over what appears to be one half of a broken heart gemstone, shimmering in the dim light of the room as a singular ray of sunshine basks upon it from a small hole in the ceiling above.]

Wooha- This must be some sorta badass relic people are always talkin' about?!

[ He doesn't answer immediately, focused on the crystal in his hand. But the moment he's done, he lowers his hand and glances over. ]

What is that? A broken heart?

[ He strides over to examine it with Denji. Cracked crystal, deliberately highlighted by a small gap in the ceiling. ]

...Where is the other half?

[ That's the big question, isn't it? It has very clearly been broken in half. Did someone take it? Is it perhaps related to the horse? He doesn't expect an answer from Denji and in fact starts looking around the pedestal for clues. ]
