This is the main place if anyone who is taking on the quest to meet Cid! Of course Cid's presence is not required except for the Teacaf and Oven options, but even then his involvement can be handwaved so you can make threads with others elsewhere! Just let me know so I'm just aware that he was around.
For the most part, Cid will be at his workshop in Nogard for these, and anyone is welcome to drop in (those coming as Paladins can assume they use his name to get through)! It even has a cool automatic door that activates after knocking, and is totally not going to get stuck or bust open or even fly off its hinges, no... (It's mostly there, still a work in progress, feel free to RNG your luck on how well it works.)
The Teacaf is a unique machine that can prepare either tea or various types of coffee with just a few switches. Pour in cold water into the reservoir, add the tea leaves or coffee beans in their appropriate chambers, flip the appropriate switches and settings, set the timer, and that's it! The machine will be able to boil water and process the drink. For tea, it will steep the tea for the set time. For coffee, it will grind the beans depending on the setting, for example normal drip coffee or espresso. Valves allow the user to adjust the pressure and amount of water to further customize one's drink. There are other modules to include milk that can be steamed, or cream, milk, and sugar to add.
It has a self-cleaning feature utilizing the water reservoir and steam functions. There is a special environmental cleaning solution provided that is added to the water reservoir and after boiling it will flush through the entire system, filtering out through a hose that can exit straight into the sink. It will then use steam to dry out the inside. The individual modules can also be removed for further cleaning or repairs.
Only a few machines are available and will need to be tested at Cid's workshop with only trusted individuals able to take one home for a week.
A special mug that has a temperature reading function, capable of reading what temperature the fluids inside the mug is. Through the use of some magictech and elemental gemstones, it can also heat and cool the contents depending on desired setting. Automatically provided to those testing the Teacaf.
Should it be successful, different version such as cups and thermoses will be developed.
Not so much "new" as improvements on current ovens available in Escordvi. Cid can install a system to current stoves to improve how quickly the stovetop and oven can reach set temperature and a new self-cleaning feature to help clean the inside of the oven using steam. It's similar to the self-cleaning ovens of modern day, just using magitech and different tech to make it happen.
The system itself is set and there is a sample oven at his workshop to test. He just needs more data from other ovens to ensure it can be installed easily.
But, Cid is also working on developing his own oven to have everything pre-installed, so there are a couple of prototype ovens he has on the testing site just outside of the workshop that can be used. They are fully operational and can be used to cook and dirty up a bit to activate the self-cleaning system. They won't explode (hopefully), but they will release a lot of hot steam, so he's just fine tuning the pressure and heat. Just don't put anything in the oven that could easily catch on fire...
Small clockwork toys that can be wound up and move around. They take on the form of five different dragons and one can collect them all. What makes these little toys unique is they are advertised for "fun battles" and have a special capsule inside that can be filled with safe, colorful powders to "spray" out, mimicking a dragon's breath. The powders are not poisonous so if accidentally consumed it will pass safely (and colorfully) and it won't stain. Easy to wipe or wash away.
There is a "boss" version that involves glitter. A larger dragon, to receive this one must collect the five different toys available.
For those who wish to contain the dragon battles, a simple stage enclosure is available. The toys are mostly meant for outdoors, but consideration has been made should they be played with elsewhere.
Cid hopes to expand the line with water toys featuring the leviathans after testing how these work.

[Seeing the post about the fish, Cid immediately takes to it because they sound like the same fish that he and Benedikta took back to the Roost. Now, he's not going to try and bring all of them back to the Roost, but the waters around the island could be safer for a larger school to hide and live in.
Of course, he knows a special trick to try and lure them out—well, two.
1) Under the moonlight. The fish are more likely to come out when there is bright moonlight, but unfortunately not every night is a full moon. So...]
I can simulate enough light to attract the fish. Just a matter of finding them.
[2) The perfect bait. Even if they find the fish, they have to somehow move them. They will already have a large enough net, but Cid has something else to help lure them in—or just lure them after the boat.
Holding up a special iridescent lure, he grins.]
This here will attract any kind of fish, and it certainly proved itself with these before. Should be able to net all of them with this, or we can just set sail and have them swim after it.

[After his first run of this with Benedikta, Cid is reminded too much of the Bearers of his own world. Not only of the victims caught for some obscene reason, but also the process of becoming some gemstone statue. Both different and similar to how the curse turns Bearers into stone. So he will be quite driven to find and save those he can.
Perhaps too driven.
To say he's haunted by his past as Lord Commander would be a stretch, but it would also be a lie to say that the weight of that time doesn't still linger. And it's not so much of what he did and more of what he was unable to do. Perhaps it's shallow to try and make up for it now through these victims, but it doesn't change the fact that these people need saving.
So with the military experience as a commanding officer, he'll take up the mantle and play the role as often as he can. Perhaps he won't be able to do it too much before other ships catch wind, but even if it's just one more he'll take it.
Dressed in full Paladin commander uniform, and likely dying his hair in either blond or black to obscure his identity, Cid will meet with whoever else is assigned with him...and hope things don't get too chaotic.
NOTE!! For any Paladin friends, I can have Cid sneak in to do the Paladin version for fun butler times instead.]

[1) Lighting the way. Dark issues? No problem!]
I think this should do the trick and keep our little tentacled friends at bay.
[Cid grins as he holds up his pulsing light device which has been converted into a light beacon. And if not, surely a little shock to them will be enough to fend them away.]
I have a few of these so once we get a layout of things we can set them up. Should last for a while and only needs a little "spark" to charge them up.
[He'll let a little buzz of his levin dance around his fingertips as if to show by example.
2) Mirrors. As for the mirrors... Floating in front of it, he takes a moment to look over himself.]
Huh, so this is what I look like as part fish.
[He's just trying to break the ice here, okay—]
But what could they possibly have needed all these mirrors for...?

[The Beta Testers prompt can also serve as general mingling thread for those who want to just talk with Cid, but I'm open to other things! I have my plotting comment here or you can hit me up on through PM, Discord, or
laenavesse.]
