Is there any extra info that could be learned about the snail goddess and her history if someone was asking around specifically?

Also—if the human sacrifice is a new plan anyway, how possible would it be to talk some of the cult snails into believing it's a bad idea via some kind of dramatic speech?

(Not sure what approach he'd take for certain, possibly 'your goddess doesn't want this' or 'if she only shows up when you feed her she's not the kind of god you need' or... something else, he'd probably just try and play to the crowd + use anything useful he'd learned.)
